Ongoing Research

Nonprofit Web Development

90% of local offices of nonprofit organizations lack the funds or expertise to build and maintain Web sites that promote their office's or their organization's goals and objectives. In turn, 70% undergraduate computer science students in the TSYS Department of Computer Science at Columbus State University graduate from the program with little or no practical experience in the computer science field beyond the academic environment. The purpose of this project is to develop an organization that will employ computer science majors to assist nonprofit organizations in achieving their goals and objectives by providing the expertise and talent needed to build and maintain competitive Web sites. The Cunningham Center for Business Research located in Columbus, GA, and supported by Georgia Tech, will house the organization's business office.
