Mission Technology (Grades 5-8) Scratch You can learn to create your very own movie or game. You can design a digital cat and program it to purr when someone pets it or craft a digital birthday cake that plays a song when you blow out the candles. Mission Technology will teach you to do this and more! Get ready to learn about an exciting new program from MIT called "Scratch" (http://scratch.mit.edu/) that lets you easily create interactive stories, games, music, and art. You will also discover how to take a digital picture of yourself and make it 'dance' to the music. With PicoCrickets (http://www.picocricket.com/), you can create musical sculptures, interactive jewelry, and dancing creatures. All rising 5th - 8th grade students with an interest in hands-on activities are encouraged to apply.
